Technology

I'm definitely new to the blogging world, but I am excited to learn how to incorporate new forms and ideas of technology into my classroom!

Congratulations blogging friends.  For some reason it sounds as if the majority of us are taking part in, what is just one of many new adventures to come.  Although I consider myself a dinosaur, I look foward to taking a step outside of my comfort zone and implement newly learned tech ideas into my classroom.  I find it amazing how technology has changed the classroom in such a short period of time.  I can remember when searching the web for a simple research paper was considered state of the art.  Now, 15 years later, implementing Facebook, Twitter, Edmodo, children with their iphones, as well as paperless classrooms are considered standards of today's classrooms.  If technology has changed the classroom so drastically in such a short period of time, what can we expect the classroom to look like in 10, 15, or even 20 years down the road.  Well, it looks like we should just better prepare ourselves now, because technology has changed the way we approach educating our youth from here on.  

Technology in the classroom

Technology is a great tool for the classroom since it is rapidly changing. There are endless opportunities to teach kids with the use of technology. I never realized that blogs can be used in a classroom, until now. It is important to incorporate modern technology in the classrooms as a way of preparing students for the outside tech demanding jobs and tasks. Now every job will require some skills of technology, so it is very important to bring this technology in the classroom and to also incorporate it into the all educational curriculum. 

Technology can be a great tool in the classroom if utilized effectively.  I don't currently use any blogs, or wikis, or those sorts of things and know very little about them.  I could see where blogs could be very useful especially for students to discuss controversial issues on topics from the class.

I'm also really excited about this class! I look forward to learning about new technologies to use in my classroom! I have a classroom blog that I use for communication with my parents, it's implemented district-wide, but that's my only experience with blogging.  :)

This is my first blog!!!  I'm excited about this class and have hopes of creating my own blog for my parents!  I am nervous because I am not technology savy but have hopes of becoming more technology inclined.

Technology

I used a great deal of technology everyday in my classroom; however, I've never used blogs.  I'm excited about the potential they would have to increase learning and communication.

New Technologies

I am looking forward to learning how to use some of the new technological advances that can be applied within my classroom.

I'm more used to reading blogs than posting in them. I'm looking forward to looking at some technologies that I never thought of using in my classroom.

This is also my first time blogging! I am excited to use more technology in my class and hesitant as well. I know it can be used as a great tool but also used irresponsibly as well. I like the idea of being able to access classwork and things outside of work or a home-based computer. Makes taking classes feasible with an already hectic schedule!

First blog: I am nervous about this class, because I am not big on using technology. But, I am excited to learn how to incorrporate technology into my classroom.

Misconceptions with Technology

One thing I found really interesting with this class was that it cleared up many of the misconceptions with using technology in the classroom.  I think too many of us are afraid of using these types of blogs, wikis, and podcasts because of the misuses and potential distractions.  I felt that Richardson did a good job of explaining the potential pitfalls and providing educators with programs that allow us to avoid these potential pitfalls.  I know many of these programs are not a sure thing, however, I do feel that these technologies will peak student interest and provide me with the ability to be more comfortable using them.  This class has been very useful and efficient in teaching me various ways of using technology and specifically blogs, wikis, and podcasts in the classroom.  Thank you.

Very Helpful Class

This class has certainly provided me with useful material to use in my classroom.  I must admit that this class provided me with my first real experiece with podcasts, screencasts, as well as blogging.  I am not a social media person and do not have facebook, or twitter accounts.  However, I certainly believe that the many technologies that we worked through in this class will be beneficial for my classroom.  I try to incorporate technology into my classroom in a variety of ways.  We use Ipads on a regular basis within the classroom.   I think with some of these new found skills we can put the technology to a more efficient and effective use on a daily basis.

Great class

This class was an excellent class! I have always known what things such as a podcast but now this class has given me the tools to produce such things on my own.  I also got ides to use Facebook in the classroom.  I cant wait to implement these tools into the classroom setting.
