EDU 573
I just created my own blog and surprisingly it wasn’t near
as bad as I thought that it would be. I realize that I could personally use
this in my classroom and it wouldn’t take a lot of time to keep it
updated. I have enjoyed this class and
it has showed me a lot of new techniques that I could use to reach my students
and peak their interest in my classroom.

EDU 573
Technology has definitely had a large impact on our
generation and even larger impact on students in today’s classroom. Technology
has changed the way students learn in the classroom. However, students will
struggle with technology if they do not have access at home. A lot of students
in my area are faced with this problem.
So I worry that these students will never “catch-up” an learn the skills
they will need to be successful.

Social Technology in the classroom
Social technology would be a great tool if used correctly in the classroom. I think in the proper setting (classroom) it would benefit students through the interaction with other people who have the same educational interests. As society proceeded to become paperless this type of interaction will become vital for education. Educators that are stuck in the way of thinking I want my students to learn the way I did are hindering our students. In society today learning is about informing students on the how factor rather than previous education philosophy of having students remember everything. Some teachers today are afraid of using technology due to the fact they are not technologically literate and do not want to learn anything new. As the internet grows educators will need to step up technological skillset and incorporate it into the classroom.

I am a CTE teacher and technology is included in all of classes. Technology will eventually dominate curriculum across the board when all students have access to it. I see in the future schools days will be replaced with cyber learning days and it will transform education and available resources. If one day a week was replaced with cyber learning think of all of the other things could be purchased. One day a week of bus drivers, diesel fuel, maintenance, electricity in the school building would accommodate for a lot of new computers and software that could be purchased and implemented into the classroom. ,
