Other Ways of Teaching

My name is JT Thompson.  I am an assistant baseball coach at Union College.  I have been coaching at multiple schools in different parts of the country.  During the one year I did not coach, I substitute taught at multiple school districts. One was a rural school, while the other was more urban. I was able to see multiple ways students were taught and how technology changes as you teach at different schools.  Technology has also expanded while teaching a sport.  I consider coaching to be another way of teaching.  We must adapt to the players and how they learn.  We have used video much more in the past year to try and get our concepts into the hands of players in a way they understand.  I look forward to learning other ways during this class.

Blogging Like Never Before!

Hello, my name is Tyler Little and I teach at Letcher County Central High School in Letcher County Kentucky. I am an Algebra 2 teacher and assistant coach in boys basketball and track. I stay very busy at LCCHS as an active member of several organizations including the SBDM council. I must admit, this is my first time ever writing in a blog. I am very excited to embark on the journey that this class will take me through with the use of technology in the classroom. Tech in the classroom for me has always been using Ipads so I certainly look forward to learning about Blogs, Screencasts, and Podcasts, as mentioned in the syllabus.

First Time Blogger!!!

I am super excited to be taking this class! I am definitely looking forward to learn the many different ways that I can use technology in my class. I recently received a new SMART board through the Gear Up program and I think this class will help me implement it in a new innovated way in my classroom. I just wanted to make my first post to make sure I have joined correctly and know how to actually make a post, since I am new to the blogging world. I follow blogs, but have never posted one of my own.
