Technology in Education

I believe technology in the classroom is great. I use it almost everyday in my art class and I plan on using it more in the future. Technology really helps me out in Art. There are a couple of things that my students can't experience due to lack of equipment. This is where technology comes into play.

For example, I don't have a kiln or potter's wheel's for clay. So, I use an app on the Ipad called Pottery. Pottery allows the students to throw their own pottery on their own potter's wheel. The students can shape the clay any way they want and get to go through all of the steps of throwing clay. The students can even sell their piece after it's made. It's a great app.

Another app I am considering is SketchbookX. Just as the name says, it's a sketchbook. With this app the students can sketch out ideas, color them, paint them, erase them, and save it to their own sketchbook.

So, for me and my classroom, I think technology will always be there and I will always try to research and learn about new technology to use in the classroom.
