What I have learned

I have learned a lot of new information from taking this course. I do use technology on a daily basis, but I had no idea how to do a screencast or podcast before this class. I had heard of both, but I never understood what the amazing possibilites could be by using them in the classroom. I have used webquests before and I love the idea of having a safe way for students (especially younger students) to use the internet. Blogging can also be a great tool to use as well and I think that our textbook has some great ways for students to use facebook as an educational resource. It is very important for us as teachers to keep up with all of the new technology and what is happening in our world because most of our students seem to by flying ahead of us in the technology race. I have seen students who know more about technology than I do and I have even found myself learning from students. Even though I think it is important to keep up with new technology and be open to this new way of learning, I still believe that we should not become so dependant on technology that we forget how to think for ourselves.
