Hello, my name is Christie Bryant and I teach 5th grade at Jesse D. Lay Elementary School. I have been teaching for 5 years going into my sixth year and try to use technology as much as I can in my classroom. I love learning new forms of technology that I can use in my classroom, students seem to respond better and soak up more knowledge than the old pen and pencil methods...lol. I have one little girl that will be seven in August and she thinks she should be 18 with her smarty pants personality but she is my pride and joy. She loves playing on the computer, smart board, apps on her IPad and they are educational and at times she doesn't realize how much it's benefitting her. I am really excited about taking this class and learning more about technology that I can use in my classroom.
I agree with you the pencil and paper is not as fun as pushing a button and using technology. I have three girls and they all three sounds like your girl. I know that this class will get us up to date on some latest technology.
ReplyDeleteChristie, Would your daughter be free to tutor me this summer? :) I asked my teenager to help me get my paragraph to post on the blog and she typed "Help Me" and posted it and now I don't know how to delete it. lol I guess I'm on my own!
