I have taught for 14 years and just realized this year what a blog truly is. Most schools that I have taught at required their teachers to have a blog, but I always thought of it as a place to post assignments, student websites, and important classroom information. I know it's okay to use it for some of this stuff now, but its main purpose is to create conversations between groups of people.
Instead of using the blog for these online conversations I used Edmodo instead. But, since learning of how a blog can truly work I feel as I could use both in the classroom now.
A Blog for students to comment on their learning process as they expand their knowledge of using technology in the classroom
