EDUC 573 (Post 2)

I have enjoyed this winter term class so far. I did not know about Jing and the ability to record step by step instructions to show through avenues like Youtube and facebook. I look forward to expanding my understanding and knowledge about other technology that I may be able to utilize in the future. So many students are connected to each other via text and social networking, but teachers are out of the loop. This class has opened a door that we as educators may be able to make that connection (through professionalism of course) to help our students learn.

  3. I agree with Chris Martin. I did not know about Jing and am not familiar with screen casting or podcasting. I am hoping to expand my knowledge of technology in this class. I am definitely out of the loop with these topics! I am hoping to bring something to the classroom that will impress my students.......

  4. I am also very excited to be a part of this EDUC 573 class. The technology available to students and myself has increased exponentially in the last five years. The use of technology in the classroom is no longer an option but a requirement for students to gain higher order thinking skills. My students are already engaging in using these technologies and by collaborating with others in their class. My job is to keep up and make what I'm teaching relevant to them.

  5. Blogging is new to me and I am having some difficulty figuring out all that I need to do. My students could assist me, I'm sure. I am a special education teacher who teaches grades Kindergarten through 5th grades. My students have learning difficulties that include Learning Disabilities, ADHD, ADD, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Drug addiction at birth, shaken baby syndrome, Autism, and difficulties that stem from homes where children are not read to or talked to in educational ways. Still, I believe many of them are more technologically savvy than I am. My goal is to improve my technological skills so I can assist these children with learning from at least one more angle
