Out of My Comfort Zone

Hi, my name is Karen Smith and I teach kindergarten in Sullivan County.  I must say that when I first read about this class I felt very frustrated.  Technology is an area that is somewhat out of my comfort zone.  While several aspects of technology interest me, I just feel that I lack knowledge  needed to incorporate technology into my classroom beyond simple use of computers, iPads, and the Smart Board.  The timing of this class has frustrated me tremendously.  I did not expect to be creating Screencasts, Podcasts, Blogs, or Webquests during my Christmas break!  However, in reading the book and talking to some of my more technology-minded friends, I do now feel encouraged to try some of these new tools.  Is it still out of my comfort zone?  Absolutely!  But sometimes a "push" to try something new is just what we need.
