My Initial Blog!

There is a first time for everything, including BLOGGING! This has taken me out of my comfort zone, but I am enjoying learning new technology to incorporate into my classroom. It has taken me forever to figure out how to post my initial blog on here, so I hope I have finally figured it out. I have found that every new school year, brings a new group of students, who more times than none, know more about me when it comes to technology. I find that students these days are so technology driven that they seem to loose interest when you have a lesson without technology. I am constantly looking for new innovative ways to increase the levels in which my students learn. I cannot wait to incorporate the new things that we are learning in this class into my classroom this year!!

  1. This is also my first time blogging too! This class has been a learning experience for me. We have been exposed to several great ideas in this class to incorporate in our classrooms! I think our students will enjoy blogging and benefit from the new ideas we have learned in this class.

  2. I have worked for many years as a mining engineer and biologist and have used technology extensively, but this recent avalanche of information distribution and availability (twitter, face-book, blogs, etc.) is astounding and difficult to keep up with. It seems to me the possibilities for classroom applications are limitless and we as teachers have to keep up. My 9 year old granddaughter has iphone, face-book and is media savvy. Her parents have to constantly monitor her use of the technology and keep filters in place on her devices. To me that is the major problem with this connectivism, unlimited access by these young children. Parental involvement is absolutely a must.
