Person vs. Technology

Technology is something that is growing on me. I will admit that I often get frustrated trying to use new technological equipment because I am not a very tech savy person. Because of my lack of technological experience, I often find myself frustrated and overwhelmed. For example, it took me twenty minutes to figure out how to post a blog. I'm not kidding.  I will say that although I am very overwhelmed right now I do feel that this class will benefit me greatly because technology is not going away, and I am going to have to overcome this fear of unknown territory. I feel that JING is going to be a great tool to use in my classroom. The step by step directions will benefit the students that need the visual learning at a slower pace. As I am working in the program, I am finding that it is actually exciting to see what all I can bring to my students. I am looking forward to learning all the tools that come with the class. My students in my Language Arts class will be impressed because they know how horrible I am with anything that involves technology. At least they will never forgot the concept "person vs. technology" because they see it every day with me.

  1. I am glad I am not the only one who gets frustrated and feel like technology gets the better of me every time I use it. I know that there are a ton of my 3rd grade students who know more about technology than I do and my daughter are always able to show me something new on my iPad and iPhone. I agree i really enjoyed learning how to use Jing and have thought of several different ways I can incorporate it in my classroom to benefit my students. I am looking forward to learning how to do podcast, blogging and make my own web quest in this class.

  2. I also grow frustrated with technology. I found when using technology that it is difficult to get the ball rolling. However, once in place technology has been beneficial to myself and students in my classroom. This class although challenging to me is going to be very beneficial to my classroom going forward. I look forward to the new things we learn each week.
