Using Jing in my classroom
Learning how to use Jing has been one of the most fascinating parts of this class. It is simple to use and I can easily see how I could apply it to my classroom. We often use stations in our 3rd grade and with our devices, I could easily use Jing to give directions for students in each station, without having to actually be next to the students. Since it allows me to show students how to use a particular software or website, students can begin their work without having to wait for me to make my way around to each station. We are limited on our ability to download to our classroom devices however, so that would have to be something I would have to look into. It certainly opens up new possibilities though!

I love the idea of using Jing to record yourself giving directions for use at stations. I love using stations in my 3rd grade math classes, however sometimes it is a little disheartening and you question yourself, did I not explain that well. We go over each stations before we do them, we talk about them, and I ask if there are any questions after each station discuss and before the students start. I even use smart board and put up directions as well as the rotation schedule and who is in each group. It never fails in each class there are at least three students who repeatdly ask what do I do and what do I do next. With the idea of using jing to recorder the directions for each station it would eliminate all of that. I love that, great idea of using Jing for that doing that.
