Common Planning
I feel common planning among departments would be very beneficial. I understand this is something that is very difficult in the high schools due to block classes, however, if this is at all possible I truly think it will benefit all that are involved. Right now we have certain inservice days to meet with those in our school district based on subject area. Common planning throughout the day for time to meet with those in your content area would help to plan out curriculum pacing guides and be able to communicate with other coworkers about how their students are doing along with what rate they were moving at.

I agree 100% with the common planning strategy. As a PE teacher in the high school they want us to use cross circular and include math into our lessons. It is difficult to do this if we do not know what the students are being taught in the classroom to be able to include that into our lesson plans. If all areas (tested/non-tested) can get together even on inservice days it would give everybody a better understanding of how to plan for their lesson to benefit everybody.
