Just when you think you know it all...
This class has definitely helped me broaden my horizon when it comes to the use of technology in the classroom. Though I felt that I incorporated technology into my lessons, it was not the the degree of the possibilities that are out there. So much opportunity, that is free and accessible that I have passed up on. With the help of information in this class, I hope to expand my classroom to not just the four walls I teach within, but to a virtual classroom. Where students are not just taught by the information I give them, they have limitless information that is attainable through my help and guidance.

There is so much more technology we can incorporate into our classrooms and I think that I have failed my students by not introducing them to all of the different opportunities. I think that this year I will try to, like you, teach them through help and guidance but let them explore on their own.
ReplyDeleteI feel that same way Amber. I thought I was using technology to my advantage, but I realize that sadly I was cheating my students and myself of all the amazing technology tools that I was pretty much clueless about using until taking this class. I know this year will be better and that my classes will be much more more engaging because I plan on sharing the new tools with all my classes. I like what you said about letting your students explore on their own with guidance. I think one of the most powerful ways to learn is by doing!
